2026-2027 Board of Directors

The Junior League of Washington’s Board of Directors leads and advises the League in promoting volunteerism and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Board members represent various membership segments and have devoted numerous years of service and volunteer hours to the Junior League. As the League’s governing board, they ensure the League’s adherence to the mission, vision, and strategic plan.


Jacqueline Frederick-Maturo

Jacqueline Frederick-Maturo serves on the Board of Directors of the Junior League of Washington (JLW). A dedicated League member since 2014, she has held numerous leadership roles, including President-Elect, Secretary, Membership Development Council Director, Ways & Means Assistant Council Director, and a voting member of the Finance Council. She has also served as Rising Chair and Co-Chair of the Kitchen Tour Committee (now the Art of Entertaining), Vice-Chair and Chair of the Esprit Committee, and a member of the Fund Development Advisory Task Force. Jacqueline attended the Association of Junior Leagues International Organizational Development Institute and is a recipient of the JLW President’s Award for Excellence in Volunteerism In League.

Professionally, Jacqueline is an Operations Director at Sands Capital Management. Her experience includes serving as Protocol Officer for the Ambassador of Sri Lanka and as a Staff Assistant to former Congressman Bart Gordon. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from American University and a Master of Arts in International Business and Policy from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. She is also a member of the Leadership Greater Washington Class of 2026.

Originally from Miami, Florida, Jacqueline now lives in Washington, DC, with her husband, Justin, and their dog, Truman. In addition to her work with the JLW, she volunteers with the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). A proud Latina of Cuban and Spanish heritage, Jacqueline is passionate about expanding opportunities for women and nurturing the next generation of leaders.


Tiffani C. Moore

Tiffani C. Moore serves on the Board of Directors of the Junior League of Washington (JLW). She transferred to the JLW in 2011 from the Junior League of Richmond after completing her New Member Year and has since held a variety of leadership and volunteer roles across the organization. Her League service includes Transfer, Grants Stewardship, Corporate Partnerships & Development, Holiday Shops, Friends of the Junior League, Nominating, and Community Outreach. She has served as Chair of both Friends of the Junior League and Nominating and currently serves as Ways & Means Council Director. Previously, she served as Ways & Means Chief of Staff, supporting the League’s fundraising strategy and fostering a culture of philanthropy to advance its mission.

Tiffani is a graduate of JLW’s Get on Board program and was recognized as an inaugural Association of Junior Leagues International 40 Over 40 Honoree.

Professionally, Tiffani is the Manager of the Federal Home Loan Banks Affordable Programs Branch at the Federal Housing Finance Agency. A native of Houston, Texas, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Dillard University, a Master of Urban Planning from the University of Michigan, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Virginia.

Beyond her work with the JLW, Tiffani is deeply committed to civic and community leadership. She serves on the boards of Insight Memory Care Center (where she is Vice President), Good Shepherd Housing & Family Services, the University of Virginia Darden Alumni Association, and the Dillard University Board of Trustees. She also serves as President of the Dillard University National Alumni Association. A proud 25-year member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Tiffani is also a member of the Jubilee Housing Leadership Council and a graduate of Leadership Fairfax.

Tiffani lives in Fairfax, Virginia, and is a devoted Orangetheory fan.


Mallory Jones

Mallory Jones serves on the Board of Directors of the Junior League of Washington (JLW). Since joining the League in 2018, she has held several leadership roles, including Recording Secretary, Community Impact Council Assistant Director, and Community Training Committee Chair. Through her League service, Mallory has helped strengthen community partnerships and advance initiatives with meaningful impact, including leading the establishment of a partnership between the JLW and Woodley House, a nonprofit that supports Washington, DC, residents living with mental health conditions.

Professionally, Mallory is Senior Counsel at AbbVie, Inc. Prior to joining AbbVie, she worked at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in the Office of New Drug Policy. She earned her law degree from the University of Michigan Law School and brings a passion for public service, advocacy, and community engagement to her leadership roles.

Originally from Indiana, Mallory lives in the Adams Morgan neighborhood of Washington, DC, with her husband, Chris. Outside of work and volunteer service, she enjoys spending summers in northern Michigan with her family, making the most of time on the lake.


Kristin Murphy

Kristin Murphy serves on the Board of Directors of the Junior League of Washington (JLW). A dedicated League member since 2009, Kristin has contributed her leadership and expertise across a range of committees and roles, including Vice Treasurer, Transfer Committee Chair, Home & Heritage Assistant Director, and Audit Committee Chair. She has also served on the Grants Stewardship Committee, formerly known as Targeted Grants & Volunteer Resources. Prior to joining the JLW, Kristin was an active member of the Junior League of Boston and the Junior League of Chicago.

Professionally, Kristin is a Senior Manager of Financial Strategy and Analytics at the Institute for Defense Analyses, where she applies her expertise in financial planning, analysis, and strategic decision-making. She earned her undergraduate degree from Duke University and her MBA from Cornell University.
Originally from Western Springs, Illinois, Kristin now lives in Alexandria, Virginia, with her beloved dog, Izzy. Outside her professional and volunteer commitments, she enjoys spending time on the golf course and exploring her passion for cooking.


Jenny Choudhry

Vice Treasurer

Jenny Choudhry serves on the Board of Directors of the Junior League of Washington (JLW). Since joining the League in 2013, she has contributed her leadership and expertise in a variety of roles, including Assistant Treasurer, Audit Chair, Archives Chair, and Archives Vice Chair. She has also volunteered with Community Family Life Services and currently serves on the JLW Fund Development Task Force, where she helps identify opportunities to strengthen the League’s long-term financial sustainability and impact.

Professionally, Jenny is the owner of a political research and competitive intelligence consulting firm, advising political, corporate, and nonprofit clients on strategic decision-making and advocacy. Prior to launching her business, she served as Research Director for several political organizations and nonprofit advocacy groups, leading research initiatives that informed campaigns and public policy.

Jenny earned degrees in International Studies and Political Science from Rhodes College. Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, she now lives in Alexandria, Virginia, with her husband, Jeff, and their two sons, Mac and Chip.

Through her professional and volunteer work, Jenny is passionate about using research, strategy, and thoughtful leadership to help organizations achieve meaningful, lasting impact.


Cassidy Herrold

Communications & Public Relations Council Director

Cassidy Herrold serves on the Board of Directors of the Junior League of Washington (JLW). Since joining the League in 2020, she has held several leadership roles, including Graphic Design Chair, Digital Media Vice Chair, and Assistant Council Director of the Communications and PR Council. Through her service, Cassidy has strengthened the League’s visual identity and communications strategy by establishing brand guidelines, creating design systems and templates to ensure consistency across member communications, and developing creative assets for numerous League initiatives and fundraising campaigns.

Professionally, Cassidy is the Founder and Creative Director of Creative Cass, a branding and design studio that helps organizations clarify their messaging, strengthen their visual identity, and build meaningful connections with their audiences. With more than 15 years of experience across corporate, agency, and entrepreneurial roles, she has led creative initiatives for Fortune 100 companies, startups, nonprofits, and mission-driven organizations. Her expertise spans brand strategy, creative direction, website design, and visual storytelling.

Cassidy holds degrees from the Georgia Institute of Technology and the Savannah College of Art and Design. Originally from Fairfax, Virginia, she now lives in Alexandria with her dog, Scout. She is passionate about empowering women, building community, and using thoughtful design to inspire action and lasting impact.


Stephanie Driscoll

Community Affairs Council Director

Stephanie Driscoll serves on the Board of Directors of the Junior League of Washington (JLW). Since joining the League in 2019, she has held a range of leadership roles across membership and community impact initiatives, including New Member Advisor, Special Events Vice Chair, Transfer Committee Chair, Done-in-a-Day Committee Member, and Assistant Community Affairs Council Director. She also led the Community Rapid Response Task Force, a presidential initiative to streamline onboarding for new community partners and expand the League’s ability to respond to emerging community needs.

Professionally, Stephanie is the Europe Team Lead for International Government Affairs at Lockheed Martin, supporting global business development and strategic international programs. She brings more than a decade of experience in foreign policy, government affairs, and international relations across the public and private sectors. Her career has included roles with the U.S. Senate, the American Foreign Policy Council, and leading global organizations focused on policy and international engagement.

Stephanie earned bachelor’s degrees in International Relations and Political Science from Elon University and a master’s in International Politics from SOAS, University of London. Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she is passionate about building strong communities, fostering meaningful partnerships, and creating opportunities for women to lead and serve.


Maggie Mahfood-Bradley

Community Education Council Director

Maggie Mahfood-Bradley serves on the Board of Directors of the Junior League of Washington (JLW). A League member since 2019, Maggie currently serves as Community Education Council Director and has held several leadership roles advancing educational opportunities and community impact. Her League service includes serving as Chair of the Horton’s Kids Committee for two years and as Assistant Community Education Council Director, during which she helped strengthen partnerships and programs that support children and families across the Washington, DC region.

Professionally, Maggie is the Deputy Chief Human Capital Officer in the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer at the U.S. House of Representatives. With more than a decade of service on Capitol Hill, she brings extensive experience in leadership, organizational development, and talent management.

Maggie is a graduate of the University of Texas at Tyler and an alumna of the Archer Fellowship Program. Originally from Tyler, Texas, she now lives in Falls Church, Virginia, with her husband, Josh, their daughters, Eliza and Cecily, and their two beagles, Red and Leo. She is passionate about advancing women’s leadership, investing in her community, and creating opportunities for the next generation to thrive.


Surayyah Colbert

Community Impact Council Director

Surayyah Colbert serves on the Board of Directors of the Junior League of Washington (JLW). Since joining the League in 2015, she has demonstrated a deep commitment to community engagement, member development, and volunteer leadership. Her League service includes roles on the Historic Alexandria Docents and Bright Beginnings committees, serving as a New Member Advisor, and serving on the Nominating Committee. Surayyah has chaired both the Historic Alexandria Docents and Bright Beginnings committees and has served as Assistant Council Director for both the Community Impact Council and the Membership Development Council. She has also contributed to the Association of Junior Leagues International Member Retention Task Force, supporting efforts to strengthen member engagement across the broader Junior League network.

Professionally, Surayyah works with students and families in Fairfax County Public Schools. Trained as an attorney, she brings a diverse background across education, healthcare, nonprofit advocacy, and community service. Prior to her current role, she spent more than a decade in healthcare receivables management and worked with an international organization dedicated to combating bonded labor, modern-day slavery, and human trafficking. She also shares her passion for the arts as a part-time dance instructor.

Surayyah earned bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Dance from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College; a Juris Doctor from the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law; and a Master of Laws in Law and Economics from George Mason University School of Law.
As the daughter of an Air Force family, Surayyah spent her childhood across multiple states and countries, an experience that shaped her appreciation for diverse communities and perspectives. She now lives in Alexandria, Virginia, and enjoys film and the performing arts, discovering new restaurants, and finding meaningful ways to connect with and serve her community.


Lindsay Jenkins

Membership Development Council Director

Lindsay Jenkins serves on the Board of Directors of the Junior League of Washington (JLW). Since joining the League in 2016, she has held a range of leadership roles focused on member engagement, communications, and organizational growth. Her service includes Assistant Council Director roles for the Communications and Public Relations Council and the New Membership Council, Transfer Committee Chair, New Member Advisor, and volunteer roles on the Strategic Planning Committee and the 105th Celebration Committee. Lindsay has also served as a voting member of the Finance Council and attended the Association of Junior Leagues International Organizational Development Institute. As a member of the JLW Focus Area Task Force, she helped assess community needs and guide the development of the League’s current focus on supporting pathways to opportunity.

Professionally, Lindsay works in early-career recruiting and university relations at a nonprofit organization, where she is passionate about helping individuals navigate their career journeys and achieve their professional goals. Her background in career coaching, professional development, and instruction has given her a deep appreciation for mentorship, leadership development, and lifelong learning.

Lindsay earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and General Business from James Madison University and a Master of Arts in Human Resource Management from Marymount University. Originally from the Baltimore, Maryland, area, she now lives in Arlington, Virginia. Outside of work and volunteer service, Lindsay enjoys cheering for her beloved Baltimore Ravens and Orioles and spending time with her nephew, Tyler.


Emily Jordan

New Membership Council Director

Emily Jordan serves on the Board of Directors of the Junior League of Washington (JLW). A dedicated League leader since 2016, Emily moved to the JLW from the Junior League of Charlotte, where she began her Junior League journey in 2013. Throughout her service, she has held numerous leadership roles, including Langley Committee Vice Chair and Chair, Assistant Council Director, and Recording Secretary. During her previous term on the Board of Directors, she led the restructuring of the League’s Community Placement Councils to better align volunteer placements with community needs and member engagement. Emily is also proud of her work as Chair of the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility, and Belonging Task Force, where she helped advance initiatives to foster a more inclusive and welcoming League experience, including the Work from Headquarters series.

Professionally, Emily serves as Vice President of Foundation and Education Initiatives at a nonprofit organization, where she has worked for more than five years. Her career spans nonprofit leadership, operations, and education, beginning as a special education teacher and transitioning into organizational and philanthropic leadership roles. She is passionate about creating opportunities for growth, learning, and meaningful community impact.

Emily graduated from Clemson University and grew up on Long Island, New York, which she remains proud to call home. She currently lives in Southwest Washington, DC.

Beyond her professional and volunteer commitments, Emily is an accomplished watercolor artist. Through her creative venture, she donates proceeds from her artwork to support Art Enables, where she also serves as Chair of the Board of Directors. Her passion for service, creativity, and community engagement continues to guide her leadership within and beyond the JLW.


Raiko Dai

Nominating Committee Chair

Raiko Dai serves on the Board of Directors of the Junior League of Washington (JLW). Since joining the League in 2019 after transferring from the Junior League of Los Angeles, she has held numerous leadership roles focused on communications, membership engagement, fundraising, and organizational development. Her League service includes serving as Digital Media Committee Chair, Vice Chair of Sponsorships for the Kitchen Tour Committee, New Membership Council Director, and Communications and Public Relations Council Director. She has also served on the Fund Development Advisory Task Force and is currently in her second year on the Nominating Committee. In recognition of her contributions to the League, Raiko received the JLW President’s Award for Excellence in Volunteerism In-League Service in 2023.

Professionally, Raiko brings more than a decade of experience across real estate, operations, communications, and strategic leadership. She is the founder of a communications strategy and digital marketing firm that supports mission-driven organizations, growing brands, and political candidates. In 2025, she launched MonDai Magazine, a business and lifestyle publication highlighting emerging leaders, entrepreneurs, and community builders.

Throughout her career, Raiko has been recognized for identifying talent, cultivating leadership, and building high-performing teams and initiatives grounded in trust, collaboration, and purpose. Her experience guiding organizations through growth and change has deepened her commitment to developing future leaders and fostering meaningful community engagement.

Raiko’s family is based in Washington, DC, where she enjoys exploring local culture and maintaining the afternoon tea ritual, both at home and while traveling. She values thoughtful conversations, lifelong learning, and creating spaces where people feel connected, supported, and inspired to grow.


Melanie Goerke

Strategic Sustainability Council Director

Melanie Goerke serves on the Board of Directors of the Junior League of Washington (JLW). Since joining the League in 2019 after transferring from the Junior League of Birmingham, Michigan, she has been a dedicated leader focused on organizational strategy, member engagement, and long-term sustainability. Her League service includes roles on the Marketplace and Grants Stewardship Committees, Chair of Kids in the Kitchen, two-year Chair of Strategic Planning, Assistant Council Director for the Strategic Sustainability Council, and New Member Advisor.

Melanie has played a key role in shaping the League’s strategic direction and organizational effectiveness. She has led initiatives such as the Annual Planning Process, Annual Survey and Report, Leadership Survey, and the development of the Wrap Around Framework. She currently serves on the Strategy Assessment Task Force, helping to guide the development of the JLW’s 2027–2032 Strategic Plan and ensuring the organization remains positioned for long-term success and impact.

Professionally, Melanie is a Senior Sustainability Consultant at Stantec, advising clients on sustainability strategy and implementation. Prior to joining Stantec, she worked at HITT Contracting, where she built expertise in construction, planning, and sustainable development. Her professional work reflects her passion for building resilient organizations, thoughtful planning, and lasting positive impact.

Melanie earned a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Michigan State University; a Master of Professional Studies in Urban and Regional Planning and Economics from Georgetown University; and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.

Originally from Romeo, Michigan, Melanie lives in Herndon, Virginia, with her partner, Merrick, and their cat, Sapphire. Outside of work and volunteer service, she enjoys reading, fashion, and supporting leadership and philanthropy initiatives with Alpha Chi Omega.


Jacqueline “Jackie” Malkes

Sustainer Committee Chair

Jacqueline “Jackie” Malkes serves on the Board of Directors of the Junior League of Washington (JLW). A dedicated League member since 2009, Jackie has contributed her leadership and expertise to a wide range of community impact, membership, and governance initiatives. Her League service includes multiple terms on the Board of Directors, Assistant Council Director for Adult Council Placements, and Chair roles on both the My Sister’s Place and Community Outreach committees. She has also volunteered with several community partners, including IONA, Calvary Women’s Shelter, and Community Family Life Services.

Throughout her time in the League, Jackie has been passionate about measuring and strengthening community impact. As a member of the Research and Evaluation Committee, she led efforts to develop dashboards and reporting tools to quantify volunteer engagement, service hours, and organizational outcomes.

Professionally, Jackie is a Principal Implementation Manager at SAS, where she has spent more than nine years leading complex technology implementations and client engagements. Before joining SAS, she worked at Noblis and Accenture, supporting government and commercial healthcare initiatives. Her career has been defined by a commitment to problem-solving, strategic execution, and helping organizations achieve measurable results.

Jackie earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Political Science and a Master of Arts in International Economics from American University. Originally from Philadelphia, she now lives in Great Falls, Virginia, with her husband, Ryan, and their two sons, Alexander and Teddy.

In addition to her service with the JLW, Jackie has served on the boards of local nonprofits, including My Sister’s Place and Aspire! Afterschool Learning. Outside of work and volunteer leadership, she enjoys traveling, reading, and staying active with F45 training.


Emily Droder

Ways & Means Council Director

Emily Droder serves on the Board of Directors of the Junior League of Washington (JLW). Since joining the League in 2018, she has been an active leader in membership and fundraising initiatives. Her League service includes Assistant Council Director roles on the Membership Development Council and the Ways & Means Council, as well as leadership positions on the Holiday Celebration Committee, including Vice Chair, Rising Co-Chair, and Co-Chair. Emily was part of the leadership team that launched the Holiday Celebration Committee and later helped guide its evolution into the Home for the Holidays event series, creating new opportunities for member engagement and fundraising in support of the League’s mission. She has also served as a committee member for Kitchen Tour and Literacy Lab.

Professionally, Emily is the Housing Data and Evaluation Director at Community of Hope, where she has worked for more than a decade. In this role, she leads data strategy, evaluation, and performance measurement to support programs addressing housing instability and community well-being. Her work reflects a deep commitment to using data and evidence-based decision-making to improve outcomes and drive meaningful impact.

Emily earned a Master of Public Administration from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts from Carnegie Mellon University. Originally from Tyler, Texas, she now resides in Washington, DC.

Outside of work and volunteer service, Emily enjoys knitting, attending concerts, and cheering for her beloved Pittsburgh Steelers. She is also on a continual quest to find the best taco spot in Washington.
