JLW will host 4 “League & Learn” Prospective Member events this fall. These are OPTIONAL, informal events that offer interested women an opportunity to learn more about our recruitment process and JLW in general. It is not required to attend a League & Learn to complete the 4-step application process described below.

The 2026 Fall League & Learn events will be held:

• Saturday, September 12, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. (TBA)
• Thursday, October 8, 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. (Loughborough House)
• Sunday, October 25, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. (Loughborough House)
• Thursday, November 5, 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. (TBA)

The historic Loughborough House is the headquarters of the Junior League of Washington. It is located in Georgetown at 3039 M Street, NW, Washington, DC 20007.

When the recruitment process begins for this 2026-2027 League Year in the fall of 2026, you will be notified that you may register for JLW recruitment. JLW Recruitment Registration is a short form that requests specific contact information. Please find the link to register HERE. You must register to move forward to the next step.

IMPORTANT DATE: You must register by January 7, 2027, in order to proceed with Steps 3 and 4.
 

All women who have created an account on JLW.org and registered will be invited to attend a mandatory JLW Recruitment 101 (“101”).

101’s give prospective members the opportunity to learn more about JLW, and attendance at one of the 101’s is mandatory to continue the application process.

The 2027 JLW Recruitment 101’s will be held on:

• Saturday, January 9, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. (Loughborough House)
• Tuesday, February 2, 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. (Loughborough House)
• Thursday, February 11, 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. (Zoom)
• Sunday, February 21, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. (Loughborough House)
• Tuesday, March 2, 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. (Loughborough House)
• Friday, March 19, 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. (Zoom)

Again, attendance is required on only one of the above dates.
 

Once a prospective member attends a JLW Recruitment 101, they will receive a non-transferable link to the JLW membership application and the $35 applicant processing fee. The non-refundable fee is payable when the online application is submitted. Women who submit an applicant processing fee but are not selected in the lottery will have the fee waived if they reapply the following year.

IMPORTANT DATE: All membership applications must be submitted on or before March 31, 2027, at 11:59 p.m. EST.

After all applications have been reviewed, eligible women will be placed in a lottery and notified of their status in early April 2027.

**If you did not register by January 7, 2027, you will not be able to submit this final application. Please check back in Fall 2027 about how to join the JLW in the 2027-2028 League Year.
 

JLW welcomes about 250-300 new members every year. This means we are not always able to accommodate all women who are interested in joining each year. Every eligible candidate who submits an application on time will be entered into the lottery system to determine who will be invited to join JLW’s 2027-2028 New Member Class. All applicants will be notified of their status by the Member Recruitment Committee in mid to late April 2027. Those accepted must pay new member dues and course fee (approximately $340) by May 1, 2027. There will be options for dues payment plans, and assistance with full or partial payment of membership dues is available.
