Junior League of Washington Announces 8th Annual Women’s Leadership Breakfast
The event will focus on the power of authentic leadership in driving community impact, highlighting examples of powerful women leaders in the Washington, DC community.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – October 11, 2024 – Junior League of Washington (JLW), a volunteer-run, non-profit organization of women dedicated to advancing women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training, has announced that the annual Women’s Leadership Breakfast will take place on Friday, October 25th, 2024, at 8:00 a.m. at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City in Arlington, VA.
“As leaders, we recognize the value of leading with authenticity. However, the vulnerability and transparency it requires, along with inherent gender stereotypes, can make it difficult to fully embrace,” said JLW President, Charlyn Stanberry. “This year’s theme, ‘Authenticity Empowers’ aims to address this challenge head-on. Only by sharing our authentic selves can we create the deep and lasting change our communities truly need.”
The Women’s Leadership Breakfast offers a unique opportunity to engage with influential female leaders, mentors, and advocates from across the greater Washington, DC area who are driving change in their communities. This year’s theme of ‘Authenticity Empowers’ highlights the importance of embracing your true self throughout your leadership journey—whether it’s building internal resilience and perseverance, developing a personal brand, or leading a company.
Robin McBride, co-founder of McBride Sisters Wine Company, will deliver the keynote address, sharing how authenticity was integral to building one of the most successful Black-owned and woman-founded wine companies in the U.S. The keynote will be followed by a panel discussion on how authenticity can be leveraged as a strength in leadership, fostering confidence, inclusivity, and impact. The panel will feature a conversation with Madeline Fetterly, Founder and CEO of Be the Brand Collective, a full-service creative agency focused on helping women build and own their digital brand, and Yvonne Spencer founder and CEO of Fast Chix Triathlon Club, an online community of women inspiring each other to be a better version of themselves.
This year’s theme reflects JLW’s commitment to developing strong, capable women leaders, rooted in the belief that authenticity enables deeper connections and drives lasting, positive change. By embracing their true selves, women can build inclusive communities and inspire those around them. To learn more about the event and purchase tickets, please click here.
