Junior League of Washington Celebrates 15 Years of Partnership with Library of Congress’s National Book Festival
For the 15th consecutive year, the Junior League of Washington (JLW) will provide essential volunteer support for the Library of Congress’s National Book Festival (NBF), taking place Saturday, September 2, at the Washington Convention Center. This year, close to 400 JLW volunteers will donate their time to the event, participating in tasks including staffing book-signing lines, assisting with book sales, and handing out prizes to children alongside librarians from across the country.

Junior League of Washington Announces 2017-2018 Grant Application Period for Literacy Projects
The Junior League of Washington (JLW) today announced the opening of its 2017-2018 grant application period for programs and projects in the Washington DC, area. Interested organizations are invited to submit a Letter of Intent no later than September 7, 2017.
In 105th Year, Junior League of Washington Pledges Support to More Than 20 Nonprofit Organizations at Annual Breakfast
Today, during a breakfast reception held at the Junior League of Washington (JLW) headquarters, the volunteer organization announced its 2017-2018 community partners in the greater Washington, DC, community. Currently in its 105th year, JLW provides community partners with both financial resources and trained volunteers. This year marks notable anniversaries for several JLW partners: National Museum of Women in the Arts (35 years), Horton’s Kids (10 years), The Literacy Lab (five years), and 826DC (five years). In addition to renewing agreements with more than 20 longstanding nonprofit community partners, JLW formalized a partnership with Washington School for Girls.
