Junior League of Washington Names First African-American President-Elect
The Junior League of Washington welcomes its 2017-2018 Board of Directors, the team of women who will lead the charitable, educational organization throughout its 105th anniversary year. The newly elected Board of Directors includes Tycely Williams, who will serve as President-Elect in 2017-2018 before assuming the role of President in 2018-2019, the first African-American and woman of color to serve in these roles in the League’s history.

Junior League of Washington Announces 2017 Scholarship and Poetry Contest Winner
The Junior League of Washington is pleased to award Lawrence Cross with the 2017 Meg Graham Scholarship, a $10,000 award honoring a graduating high school senior living in Washington, DC, who has excelled academically and demonstrated commitment toward community involvement. This year, JLW also created Special Recognition book scholarships, which were awarded to three students.
